Sited at the start/finish of the South West Coast Path, the sculpture depicts images that can be seen along the 630-mile walk. Images and information were obtained through a series of workshop sessions on the beach, at community venues and at Purbeck High School. Images were then transferred and cut into stainless steel plate or modelled in clay and cast into bronze to create a compass and sail sculpture that illustrates viewpoints and highlights of Britain's longest National Trail.
