The Mermaid was created by a group of four Year 2 pupils during an Arts Day on the theme of Under The Sea.

They were each given a task of selecting objects to make part of the sculpture and then shown simple binding methods to join
all the sections together.

This way of working can also be used to produce smaller individual pieces or quite large-scale sculptures.
